To help ensure their safety and protection, the early settlers of Brigham City erected two facing rows of cabins, described by some as simply rooms, adjoining each other to create a fort, with each room opening onto a central area. The fort was named after William Davis, their leader. (See Brigham City History.) Return in the spring of 2018 and learn more about Benjamin Hewitt Tolman and his wife Sarah Jane who were among the first settlers.
