In 1879, Daniel Lambert Gorringe was among the Oakley Valley pioneers. He was 15 years old and arrived with his mother, Fanny Burgess Gorringe. He remained their until his death in 1953 at the age of 89. Daniel is the brother of Mary Jane Gorringe. He was married to Mary Ann Shields or “Annie” and they lived long enough to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary together.
