Parley Lambert Tolman was the seventh child of Joshua Alvin Tolman and Mary Jane Gorringe. Parley married his second cousin, Lydia Vilate Tolman from Bountiful and they moved to Marion. In the spring of 1916 and just prior to Parley’s mission to the Northwest States, Parley and Vilate purchased a log home in Marion from Parley’s parents for $100. See the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Census records.
