The Thomas Tolman Family Organization Indexing Group is now available on FamilySearch.  This indexing group has been made possible because of the recent release of FamilySearch’s new web-based indexing program. The goal of the TTFO Indexing Group is to index one million records.  We hope hundreds of cousins will eventually join the group and commit to indexing 25 records or more each month.  William Odell Tolman, TTFO Family Genealogist from 1959 to 1980, often said, “The key to success is getting a lot of people to do a little.”  So please join the group and invite other family members to join the group and before we know it, we’ll have indexed a million records.

Indexing records plays a critical role in helping others find their ancestors. The TTFO Indexing Group will focus on projects from England and those locations where descendants of Thomas Tolman settled after he came to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636.  The group will also focus on other projects of interest like the Freedman’s Bureau Project.

To join the TTFO Indexing Group simply create or log in to your FamilySearch.org account.  On the top main navigation menu, select “Indexing” and then “Web Indexing.” Scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see “Groups.” Then select “Find Groups” and enter “Thomas Tolman Family Organization” in the search box. Then select “Join” and you can starting indexing by selecting one of the projects listed.
