Claudius Tolman owned and operated the Honeyville town grocery and dry goods store. After his mother died a lady in town came to the store and told Dad his mother had appeared to her and wanted Dad to do some family history names she had gathered before she died.
The next time the same lady came to the store she told Dad his mother had again appeared to her and wanted Dad to do some family history. Dad said something like: “If she wants me to do something tell her to come to me.”
So, pretty soon Dad had a vivid and frightening dream of his mother in the bottom of a swimming pool and she was helpless and calling, “Claudy! Claudy!.” Dad knew what it meant. It meant his mother was helpless to help those people whose names she had gathered until they had their temple ordinances performed, so he got her genealogy from his brother who had it and found she had over 100 names of people all ready for their temple ordinances. He then told his family and they all worked to get the temple ordinances done. His mother did not come again.
People on the other side of the veil are aware of us and need our help getting earthly ordinances in place for those who cannot do it for themselves.
